can i see your toes please???

sooo, i have been thinking a lot in the last week or two about something…this time every year “church people” start talking about easter…there is a push to invite people to come to our weekend services…churches will go all out on decorations…on music…on drama…on special effects…

because this is one of two services all year that many will come to…really???

the thought that i have been kicking around…do these individuals only come because we’ve put all this extra time, energy, thought, prayer, fasting, sweat, and finances into these services…HAVE WE CREATED THIS???

why don’t we go all out every weekend??? why don’t we put the same amount of time, energy, thought, prayer, fasting, sweat, and finances into every weekend??? because let’s be honest here…WE DON’T!!!

at this point, i am not solidly standing on either side of this question…but i have to say i felt God asking me…

can i see your toes please???

there was a little pain to this idea…or to this thought…my toes were being stepped on here…and not just a little…A LOT!!!

sooo, my question is…in reading this…do you in any way hear God asking you…

can i see your toes please???

  1. that I do… but in a slightly different way.

It relates to my wife not believing in Christ.

It relates to me inviting her off and on, but mainly on the “major” holidays.

It relates to me being afraid sometimes to stand more openly in my faith in front of her.

Why do I feel this way… I guess God is asking me the same question.
