cropped-leading-worship.jpg

sooo, this is another post submitted as a part of the craziness over on fred’s blog…it’s a weekly hot spot for worship leaders to blog about what all happened in their weekend services…go check it out!!!

i was back for week three in the LIVE services of lima community church

we started our services with the video announcements and meet and greet time…then during our 10:45am service we recognized and prayed for all of our high school graduates…

1. Jesus paid it all…kristian stanfill arrangement

2. marvelous light…by charlie hall

3. You never let go…by matt redman

4. how great is our God…by chris tomlin

then we had our offering time…saturday night it was set up by our lead worship pastor…sunday morning it was set up by our family pastor…

5. amazing grace (my chains are gone)…by chris tomlin

**for 10:45am service we pulled amazing grace(my chaings are gone) and moved You never let go to the offering…this was due to the graduation recognition and time…

then we started our new message series “txting”…on the top questions given from the congregation that they would text God…the message was presented by our lead pastor dan huckins…it was entitled “why do bad things happen to good people”???

things this weekend went VERY well…i’ve now been able to work with nearly all of the band members in the live services and over half of the vocalists…we had a great time studying the word and discussing it, before the services…i’m enjoying getting to know new people and work with them…to see who God has created them to be and what they are passionate about…to see where they are in their spiritual journey and try to lead them closer to God…

i’m amazed to see how God continues to use me…to see all that He allows me to be a part of…it’s definitely not something that i deserve or have earned…it’s truly His grace at work in my life…i don’t want to ever forget that!!!

sooo there you have it…

sunday setlists…LIVE…take three…

completely satisfied!!!

MacBook-Pro

sooo, the last two weeks of my life have been somewhat of a journey…two weeks ago i started a new position at the church…i also started back to work after being off for three weeks…and my powerbook G4 CRASHED!!!

it was my first mac and i absolutely loved the little 12″ screen…aluminum body was great as well…but the HD just wasn’t cutting it…i noticed some errors and thanks to a friend, i went out and bought an external HD and manually backed everything up…within days the computer was toast…i couldn’t even turn it on…but, i had applecare!!!

sooo, i called apple and they gave me instructions in what to do…i did it…computer still did not work right…so i called back and got instructions on mailing the computer to them and getting it fixed…

long story short(er) i mailed the computer in three times…in a week and a half…never getting the computer completely fixed…the third time they were supposed to replace the HD and failed to do so…

sooo, i called one more time and spoke with chad…he was very kind and concerned…he assured me that i was going to be taken care of and that i would be…

completely satisfied!!!

after being on hold for five minutes or so he came back and had me get online to the apple store…he then pointed me in the direction of a 15″ macbook pro…the computer that apple would be sending me…WHAT?!? yup…15″ macbook pro…NEW…for me!!!

that was on tuesday…today is friday and i’m now typing my first post on my macbook pro…my computer shipped from shanghai, china…it is saaawwweeettt!!!

let’s just say i’m…

completely satisfied!!!

NOTHING…

coffee_pencil

sooo, this morning i was up early…but glad to be because cooper slept from about 11:00p-4:45a…i actually enjoy getting up early because it allows me to get moving and awake before everything else in the day gets going…but these days that seldom happens…i have to get sleep when i can!!!

but this morning…i was up early…and i was able to get a little reading in before i headed out the door…i was reading and very encouraged by a passage…wanted to share it with you today and hopefully encourage you as well…

romans 8:38-39

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NLT)

the key word that is going through my head…

NOTHING…

i kept trying to come up with things that i’ve done or things that i’ve been through in life…nope…kept coming back to that same word…

NOTHING…

sunday setlists…LIVE…take two…

i was back for week two in the LIVE services of lima community church

we started our services with the video announcements and meet and greet time…then we had baby dedications…one baby in each service…

1. my Savior lives…by ross parsley

2. for Your name…by desperation band

3. blessed be Your name…by tree63

4. reign in us…by starfield

there was a ministry time during each service at this point…and then we went into our offering set up…

5. i am free…by ross parsley

then we had a message given by our lead pastor’s mother, ruth huckins…it was directed towards mothers and the awesome privilege and responsibility they have in raising children…

6. You hold me now…by hillsong united

then our executive pastor did a benediction…

_______________________________________________________

for me it was an awesome weekend…i had been burdened all week with the last song…i had listened to it over and over and over again during the week…i needed it…and i knew that God wanted me to use it in the services…but they were laid out already…not to mention the fact that we had no mp3, lyrics, or chart for it…and it just didn’t make a whole lot of sense to try and fit that in…(the new hillsong cd isn’t even released yet, but will be on 5/26/09…i found the song by watching newspring back in january…and was just listening to it from their video)

then saturday night at 8:00pm i got a call telling me that ruth’s message was much shorter than normal and i needed to add a song or two at the end of the service…i jumped up and headed to church…printed out lyrics from the web…worked out some chords and a piano part to get the job done…i was like a kid in a candy shop…not something that i would want to do every week, but when God tells me to…

i got home and was WIRED to say the least…i was studying through scripture to see what God wanted me to share…psalm 62:5-8…and i just read over and over that passage…i was asking God to show me why i was sharing this and why i was reading this passage…and between being WIRED and my 5 week old son not wanting to sleep…i got about 2 hours of sleep that night…

sunday morning came…services went well…and i did the song…to me it didn’t feel real smooth where it fit in the service…i even missed some lyrics in the first service (due to lights being pulled way down and a shadow from the piano lid)…but the response afterwards was great…countless people asked me about the song and where it came from…they thanked me for being obedient…even shared how the song had touched them…but one text was HUGE…

after the first service i received a text telling me that the song was for “them”…my friend found out that his uncle had passed away that very morning at 6:00am…but the night before his uncle had given his life to Christ…he said the song was perfect…just what he needed…i’m wondering if his uncle gave his life to Christ around 8:00pm…?

i urge you to check out the song…”You hold me now” by Hillsong United…you can get the mp3 now from itunes or amazon…the lyrics are out on the web as well…VERY POWERFUL song!!!

sooo there you have it…

sunday setlists…LIVE…take two…

you need what???

smile
sooo, it’s that time of year…i pull out this black back full of gloves, bats, and some rather rank adidas cleats…i go out and play the game of softball, wishing i was still playing baseball…we have a good time…someone gets hurt trying to play like they are 10 years younger…and hopefully we win more games than we lose…
:)
usually i’m hesitant and don’t really want to play at the beginning…and by the end of the season i’m back to my competitive self and wishing we could keep playing…but this year…it’s a little different…we are starting off with a BANG!!! i can’t wait to get going now…check out this e-mail i received last night from our coach…let me preface this…it’s a CHURCH SOFTBALL LEAGUE…
Hey guys,
If you have already replied to me about your contact information and jersey size, please disregard this message. For everyone else. I need to have your phone number, your shit size, and the number you want on your jersey. Please get back with me ASAP.
If you are not interested in playing in the league please let me know that as well.

the best part about this…our coach has the biggest servant’s heart and would give you the “shirt” off his back…he is a great man of God and will never live this down…

i needed this e-mail last night…i needed to laugh like i haven’t laughed in a long time!!!
