sooo, this is another post submitted as a part of the craziness over on fred’s blog…it’s a weekly hot spot for worship leaders to blog about what all happened in their weekend services…go check it out!!!
i was back for week four in the LIVE services of lima community church…
we started our services with the video announcements and meet and greet time…then we rolled right into the service…
1. mighty to save…by hillsong united
2. reign in us…by starfield
3. how marvelous(my Savior’s love)…as recorded by passion
4. amazed…by lincoln brewster
we had a short ministry time at this point in the service…and then went into our offering set up/memorial day recognition…and then we took the offering…
5. Salvation has a name…by 33miles
then we had our message time…this was given by our executive pastor, vince nelson…it was week two of our “txt message” series on the questions that people would text God if they had the chance…this week’s question…”how can i no i no Him?”
it was an interesting week to say the least…the schedule was not complete coming in to the week…we were short a lead guitar, as well as an acoustic…i was scrambling all week to see what we could come up with…but come thursday i had exhausted all options for lead guitar and no one was available…
sooo i plucked through the lead guitar parts on the piano…i was now playing keys and sent out a couple quick e-mails to line up another a rhythm electric and an acoustic guitar…and then to replace the acoustic player the following week so he wasn’t playing three weeks in a row…
there were also late additions to the service and music had to be cut…which was not that big of a deal, but just seemed to be added stress to me…not to mention that i was learning a “feature” for the week by 33 miles…i am not real familiar with the group and haven’t ever heard the song…and to top it all off we showed up for rehearsal and i found out that one of the songs we were playing was not on the disc given out to everyone to rehearse with…since i use planningcenter to practice, i was not aware of this…
the band was well prepared and we worked everything out just fine…it was in fact the first time in a month that we really needed the entire rehearsal time…and by the end of the weekend i was loving the “feature”…GREAT TUNE!!!
the services went very well…it was a little more low key than what i would prefer, but i’m satisfied with how things turned out…i’m confident that God was glorified in what was done…He was lifted up…it just leaves “a weird taste in my mouth” when it’s not how i really think it should be…
sooo there you have it…
sunday setlists…LIVE…take four…
here’s the “feature” by 33 miles…
