sooo it’s been a few weeks, but i’m back at it…and i’m no longer in the source for our video venue service…i’m LIVE…i am now leading worship for the three live services at lima community church…FUN TIMES…
i may be late, but here we go again…this is another post submitted as a part of the craziness over on fred’s blog…it’s a weekly hot spot for worship leaders to blog about what all happened in their weekend services…go check it out!!!
right off the bat we had a meet and greet time as well as our video announcements, featuring a video for compassion international…
1. your grace is enough…by matt mahar
2. Hosanna…by paul baloche
then we had communion set up done by our executive pastor, vince nelson…
3. sweetly broken…by jeremy riddle (finishing the song after vince came back up and we took the elements together…)
then we had our offering time…i used this as an opportunity to teach a “new song” to the live services…
4. reign in us…by starfield
next was our message time…the saturday night message was done by our lead worship pastor, tim thurston and sunday morning message was done by our lead pastor, dan huckins…the final week of a series on our ultimate fears…
5. take all of me…by hillsong united
this was my first weekend, of many, to lead over in the live services…or at least to lead as “their” worship leader…i was very excited to work with some new musicians and minister to new faces…a little nervous, but not too bad…and things really seemed to be going well…rehearsal could not have gone any better on saturday…we had extra time to run through the service plan and to pray…
and then it happened…i got a call from my wife telling me that she needed to go to the emergency room…she was at home with our two year old and one month old…her temperature had peaked at 103.8 for the second day in-a-row and the on-call doctor told her to get to the hospital…the executive pastor “just happened to walk in” as i was getting off the phone…and the associate worship pastor “just happened to come in” early for the service that he didn’t every need to be at…
next thing i know they are all praying for me and for kasey…the associate worship pastor is now leading worship for me and i’m headed home to take my wife to the hospital!?!
5 1/2 hours later…blood tests…ultrasound…NOTHING…temp was down to 99 for the first time in three days…out the door we went and headed back home…
8 hours later…my mom stops in to help take care of kasey and our children… i’m off to church to rehearse and hopefully get through two services…
God absolutely blew me away…everyone at church was supportive and encouraging…asking how kasey was doing…the musicians were there EARLY on a sunday morning ready to run through the music…and the services could not have gone any better…people were coming to the alter without ever finishing communion or asking people to come…they were singing so loud i could hear them over my in-ear monitors…i almost had a meltdown on the platform…
that’s only part of the adventure…the adventure that appears to be over for today…we’ll see…it has been awesome to see God’s faithfulness to me and to my family…i can’t wait to see what He has in store for us in the coming weeks and months…
sooo there you have it…
sunday setlists…LIVE…
