two things…

sooo, things just seem to be a little extra crazy in my life right now…way too many things going on at one time…and the one thing that is getting neglected (because it really isn’t that important in the scheme of things) is my blog…so if anyone actually reads it on a regular basis, sorry…

but this morning during my study time, i was really hit with something…two things actually…sooo, i just had to share it real quick…

i was studying for a lesson that i am teaching this sunday…and i was reading in luke 6…and this morning i read through verses 6-11…

6 On another Sabbath day, a man with a deformed right hand was in the synagogue while Jesus was teaching. 7 The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely. If he healed the man’s hand, they planned to accuse him of working on the Sabbath. 8 But Jesus knew their thoughts. He said to the man with the deformed hand, “Come and stand in front of everyone.” So the man came forward. 9 Then Jesus said to his critics, “I have a question for you. Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” 10 He looked around at them one by one and then said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored! 11 At this, the enemies of Jesus were wild with rage and began to discuss what to do with him.

Jesus heals a man’s hand on the sabbath…nothing real exciting at first glance…Jesus was healing people left and right during his ministry…but i read back through it a couple more times and was challenged with…

two things…

1) the boldness and faith of the man with the deformed hand…Jesus was teaching…in the synagogue of all places…and this man comes in…he knew that Jesus alone was able to bring him healing…he wanted healing…sooo, he thought this was a great opportunity…not too many people would have this kind of boldness…but we should!!!

2) Jesus met the need right then and there…He didn’t get annoyed and tell the man to leave Him alone…He didn’t tell the man that He would pray about it and get back with him…He didn’t ignore the man…He saw that the man had a  need that He could meet…and He met his need…

sooo, nothing earth shattering…but it was challenging none the less…i need to be bold with God about my true needs…and when there are those with a need that i can meet…i need to meet that need…there you have it…

two things…

Glad you stopped long enough to share this nugget – it’s good stuff.
