sooo here we go again…this is another post submitted as a part of the craziness over on fred’s blog…it’s a weekly hot spot for worship leaders to blog about what all happened in their weekend services…go check it out!!!
this post is in regards to the happenings of the source this past weekend…so here we go…
1. let the praises ring…by lincoln brewster
then we had our welcome, video announcements, and prayer time hosted by darren long…
2. song of hope…by robbie seay band
3. filled with Your glory…by starfield
4. how great Thou art…as performed by charlie hall…which rolled into a few choruses of how great is our God
then darren came back up and set up our offering time and the offering song for week four of our series on joseph and dreams…
5. dream on…by aerosmith
then we had our coffee break and went right into the message video by our lead pastor, dan huckins…darren came back up to dismiss us and we rocked out one more time as everyone was leaving with dream on…
i was amazed this week how God just laid out details…once again i was reminded not to question myself when i feel lead to put certain songs together for a setlist…i was also amazed at the lyrics of dream on and how they flowed perfectly with our message…joseph had a dream from the Lord for years and it finally came true…”dream on, dream on, dream on, dream until the dream comes true”…
we were again packed out with people and the energy all morning was definitely high…i walked away knowing that i had felt God’s presence and i was exhausted…
i have to say dream on flat our rocked…we had a new musician join us this week on bass…in addition to being a great bass player, he has an amazing voice, so he sang the tune…once again the Lord has blessed me as a leader with yet another person with mad skills…here’s a video of the original song…
sooo there you have it…
sunday setlists…take twenty-five…

I’ve seen quite a few churches using a song like this for a Sermon series. I really like the idea! It sounds like yours was awesome!

we just pulled out “filled with Your glory” this week – great tune. i haven’t played through “song of hope” but have loved singing along every time i hear it. thanks for the idea.

It’s cool to have the freedom to bring in great songs regardless of genre…this past year we’ve sort of experimented (with great success) with adding in secular tune that are great thematic elements. Sometimes don’t have the right singer so we go with instrumental or even a music video. Loving the response so far.

I’ve been a fan of Starfield FOREVER. Great Canadian Band.
Sounds like it was a great service.
