this post is in regards to the happenings of the source this past weekend…so here we go…
1. let the praises ring…by lincoln brewster
then we had our welcome, video announcements, and prayer time hosted by darren long…
2. song of hope…by robbie seay band
3. filled with Your glory…by starfield
4. how great Thou art…as performed by charlie hall…which rolled into a few choruses of how great is our God
then darren came back up and set up our offering time and the offering song for week four of our series on joseph and dreams…
5. dream on…by aerosmith
then we had our coffee break and went right into the message video by our lead pastor, dan huckins…darren came back up to dismiss us and we rocked out one more time as everyone was leaving with dream on…
i was amazed this week how God just laid out details…once again i was reminded not to question myself when i feel lead to put certain songs together for a setlist…i was also amazed at the lyrics of dream on and how they flowed perfectly with our message…joseph had a dream from the Lord for years and it finally came true…”dream on, dream on, dream on, dream until the dream comes true”…
we were again packed out with people and the energy all morning was definitely high…i walked away knowing that i had felt God’s presence and i was exhausted…
i have to say dream on flat our rocked…we had a new musician join us this week on bass…in addition to being a great bass player, he has an amazing voice, so he sang the tune…once again the Lord has blessed me as a leader with yet another person with mad skills…here’s a video of the original song…
sooo, yesterday was a fun-filled adventure in the mckanna household…it included a lot of driving…appointments with medical professionals…a couple errands…and then trying to get little miss molly to take a nap…which never happened!!!
kasey left for her bible study last night and i was there with the little lady who was in lalalalala land…we did bath time early and i promised her to watch a movie in the basement on the big tv…she was sooo excited…she really wanted to watch jonah and the big fish with daddy…we even made up our own little song about it during the bath…she was deliriouslyPUMPED!!!
after we finished up getting the pj’s on i grabbed the jonah movie and away we went…but we got to the top of the stairs and molly stopped dead in her tracks…she waited on me to take her by the hand and we started down the stairs…i didn’t turn the lights on because i wanted to use the track lighting when we got down there, so it was dark…but i knew where we were going and didn’t need the lights to get there…
molly was scared and kept stopping to say, “dark daddy, dark daddy!!!”…to which i would respond, “it’s ok, i’ve got you!!!”…we did this numerous times on the way down the stairs…even though she knew that daddy had promised we were going to get to watch jonah and the big fish…even though she knew daddy was with her and holding her hand…even though daddy knew where he was going…even though she had been sooo deliriouslyPUMPED…she was hesitant and scared…
this little incident, along with the sermon series we are doing right now, has really challenged…i’m challenged with things in my own life that i’m allowing to make me hesitant, maybe even scared…i know what God has promised me…i know that He is with me…He knows where He is going…but i can’t see exactly where i’m going…so i’m hesitant and scared…
now, molly and daddy made it all the way down the stairs and we got the lighting turned on…i put the movie in and immediately molly was going crazy, “big fish daddy, big fish daddy!!! hah-ray!!!”…we were back to being deliriouslyPUMPED!!!
i’m really trying to hold on to this and chew on it for awhile…to focus on the excitement of one getting to experience what God has promised…to focus on hearing God’s voice when i hesitate, telling me…
sooo here we go again…this is another post submitted as a part of the craziness over on fred’s blog…it’s a weekly hot spot for worship leaders to blog about what all happened in their weekend services…go check it out!!!
this post is in regards to the happenings of the source this past weekend…so here we go…

then our venue pastor came up and did a welcome, video announcements, and a prayer…

3. hallelujah what a Savior…by vicki beeching
4. my Savior lives…by ross parsley

5. these dreams…by heart
then we took our weekly coffee break and watched the message by way of a video…we were in week three of a five week series on the life of joseph…it has a focus on the dream that God had given joseph…it was a very powerful message about getting out of the pit and knowing that God is with us…
with about 5 minutes left in the message the venue pastor made a great call for me to go up and lead one more song…
6. amazing grace (my chains are gone)…by chris tomlin
it’s amazing when you can look back at a service and see God’s hand at work…each and every song ties in to the message that was being presented…i lot it when God shows off like that…and He was showing off at the end of the service!!! i was ready to go back and do the whole set over again…
