sooo, this year i’ve really tried to step up my reading a little…the problem for me is that i’m not a person who can just sit down and read…and read…i get bored!!! but one thing i have found is that there is no shortage of books out there, from great leaders of today’s church…and so the book i just got done reading…was authored by tim stevens from granger community church…
this is a book that every church leader should read…especially those who are involved in the planning of the actual services or gatherings…i’m not going to say that i agreed with every last thought in the book, but it caused me to question some things…it caused me to say, “hmmmmmm” a few times…it gave me a different perspective on pop culture…it focuses on how the local church can use pop culture to reach people and help them see God in the culture around them…to help people see how much they matter to God…
two questions that he asked with his response…i’m leaving you with…
I began this book by writing, “Where is the impact of the church? Where is the church that has an impact so loud it can’t be denied by the community?”
The answer, I hope, is in your community. That is my prayer. (pg. 225)
