in hiding…

sooo, this past weekend was very busy and we lost power due to some storms and high winds…we were very fortunate to have friends that we could spend the night with!!! but we were out of routine, which sadly enough ends up making a big difference…molly was a trooper though…she got to stay with her favorite person in the work, jodi…and we heard about it all the way there, and all day on monday…i’m developing a complex…daddy is just old news, life is all about jodi…

then we leave tomorrow for a drive to kansas city, missouri…my cousin is getting married an i am doing a little adam sandler impression for the wedding…i’m singing…so tonight i have two yards to mow, some practicing to do, and i should probably start packing!!!

with all that is going on right now…the blog is going to be quiet, at least from my end…it’s funny because i haven’t logged on since last saturday and my stats have gone through the roof??? but anywho…i may try to get a little thankful thursday going if i have time in the midst of travels…but we’ll see…

i may be…

in hiding…

thankful thursday!!!

sooo, here we are again, another thankful thursday…and this week is taking on a whole new realm of being thankful…there is a TON of sickness around me, and i’m not talking colds and allergies…people finding masses on their brain or being told they have an inoperable condition or collapsing with a heart attack…and two of them at young ages…it has really put alot of things, including my allergies, in perspective for me this week…i’m still at st. arbucks visiting with my friend maximus this morning…he’s full of energy as usual and checking out my powerbook…he likes computers and is still trying to convince his mom to buy him one…he always brings a smile to my face on thursday morning!!!

this week i am thankful for the good health that he has blessed me with throughout my life…for the good health my wife has despite her kidney disease…for a healthy, beautiful, growing little girl…for the cool weather this week that i absolutely love…for the ability to be out and about to enjoy the weather…for encouragement from two complete strangers from other parts of the world…for God’s provision…for God getting me through an extremely busy time in life and for giving me wisdom on where to make roooooom to breathe…on a lighter note, i’m thankful for st. arbucks giftcards!!!

so let’s hear it…what are you thankful for this week…or even today…?

it’s thankful thursday!!!

simply not enough…

sooo, this morning i was excited to visit some complete strangers…there is a radio station that i listen to when i am not listening to my ipod or a cd in the car…their morning show is quite humorous so i usually have that on as i drive to work…they are located an hour away, but this morning they were in town…they were giving away FREE COFFEE, donuts, water bottles, window stickers, and pens…did i mention FREE COFFEE…they call this “A Cup O’ Joe To Go”…so i left a few minutes early and headed over to get some FREE COFFEE!!!

when i arrived there was one other scavenger there, and i actually knew him…but otherwise it was nice and quiet…i filled out my little slip and got my free items…i made sure to get my FREE COFFEE…exchanged a little chitchat and left as others were coming in…but as i got in the car i looked down at the cup…it was small and i decided it was simply not enough…it was good coffee, and despite what you may think…i have had bad coffee before, even though i love coffee…but seriously, it was…

simply not enough…

sooo, i did what any dedicated addicted coffee drinker would do…i stopped on my way to work at st. arbucks and got a venti caramel macchiato, of course…(i used a giftcard, always accept more giftcards, in case you were wondering)…and this all got me thinking this morning…

when was the last time i sat down in my office and went through my routine of devoting with my journal, bible, and various devotional blogs that i read…and it just was…

simply not enough…

when was the last time that after that first go around, i had to stop and go for more??? not just more, but A LOT MORE…when was the last time that i was that dedicated addicted to God’s word and spending time in His presence??? so that’s what i’m chewing on today…my time with God…it is…

simply not enough…

coming around the corner…

this video was sent to me and i was told this reminded the person(my sister) of something we would do for the source??? i’m not sure how to take that exactly…but we are going to be re-doing this video soon…i’ll be sure to post it when we’re done…but for not here’s the video i received…

coming around the corner…

sunday setlists…take five…

sooo, i’m not even sure where to start this week…it was a week like no other, that is for sure!!! by now you all know what this is all about, if not go here to check it all out…the number of participants is growing weekly!!! to start out i will just give you the setlist for the source and then i will explain why it was a week like no other…

1. Your Grace is Enough…by Matt Maher

2. All We Need…by Charlie Hall

then we went into our announcements, offering, and our weekly coffee break before the message…roll in to the message on faith and the risk and action it requires…after the message our venue pastor set up communion…

3. Jesus Paid it All…as arranged by Kristian Stanfill

4. Nothing but the Blood…as performed by Matt Redman

5. Came to My Rescue…by Hillsong United

this weekend limacc had a guest speaker who was speking live on saturday night as well as for the two sunday morning services…at 10:00pm on saturday night we were notified that our service order needed to be rearranged to accomidate the message…communion and the worship set needed to be moved to after the message…in addition to that the venue site also holds the junior high youth ministry on sunday mornings…they needed 20 extra minutes of time sunday morning for their kickoff week…we rearranged our staging/lighting due to the communion time, as soon as the youth were done…while simultaneously doing our mic/sound checks…and we were ready to go!?!

fortunately i had scheduled a week that was “unplugged” with just me leading with acoustic and one of our high school guys on acoustic…we ran through songs on saturday afternoon…then i added a song and pulled another song and moved everything around…we had time for one run through before the service and God really pulled it together!!!

i will say that i had a first this past weekend…during communion people were really worshiping and it was a very authentic and passionate time…but i went one song too many (in looking back)…the last song just for whatever reason seemed to be one too many…i’ve never felt that way before about a song or a setlist, but i did this weekend…

God was glorified in what was done and He was worshiped and lifted up yesterday!!! so i’m not going to focus on it or try and figure it out…

but there you have it…

sunday setlists…take five…
