whenever…

sooo, we are now in day three of our little week long getaway…i have to say this has been much needed and just amazing…i thank my friends and family who have been praying for us during this time…one good friend barry and his wife michelle were very encouraging before we left with their thoughts and prayers…it has truly been refreshing and we’re not half way through the week yet!!!

i’m still working through galatians and going at my typical snail’s pace…just like when i run…i’m now in chapter 6 and reading through the first half of the chapter and it’s just lighting me up!!! it took me two days just to get passed the first verse and what it had for me to take in…but for todays purposes i am going to focus on verses 9 and 10…

9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone – especially to those in the family of faith. (NLT)

sooo, this speaks to me, because quite frankly i’m TIRED!!! in the last 7 months it just seems like all i get done doing is spending time at “the church” or working on things for “the church”…and the church would be our local church that we attend, not speaking of the Body of Christ…and the things that i am tied up doing are great and there are times when i’m sure that people are impacted by them…hopefully more than i know…but i’m TIRED!!! just being honest here…

this week is greatly helping…God is definitely refreshing me and renewing my strength…

but the passage didn’t end with getting tired…it ends with the thought that no matter what…we need to take every possible opportunity we have to do good for others…why is that??? because that is what Christ did…regardless of what day it was…how big the crowd was or wasn’t…or who was in the crowd…if there was a need that Christ was able to meet…He did!!!

this all ties in with the book i am reading this week…it was recommended to me by her…and i am so thankful for that!!! but here is the quote i would like to share…”Jesus didn’t just go around willy-nilly healing people because he had a mind to. Jesus kept his eyes open (the traditional practice of Jewish prayer) so that he could see what the Father was doing and then go do it with him.” (pg. 104)

i just love the fact that ken wilson used “willy-nilly”…but that’s obviously not my focus…it’s on the concept of seeing what the Father is doing…and then going to do it with him…AMAZING yet simple concept…that we should do what Christ did, WHENEVER we have the opportunity…

whenever…
