thankful thursday…

sooo, here we are on another thursday…(i’m actually writing this on wednesday night)…i am hoping that people will still be stopping in to let me know what they are thankful for…this week has been a great week for me…i couldn’t wait to get to it…so once i finish up…i would like to hear from you on what you are thankful for…

i’m thankful for a week away…for this amazing setting i have been enjoying all week at the cabin in the woods, across from the beach!!! for the renewed strength God has given me this week…for our time at the beach and the joy that comes from watching molly play so hard in the sand and in the water…for our time to go golfing this week…for how well molly has done in a new environment and being off her schedule…for all of the animals that we have seen out our back door this week…for the ability to get away for a week…for the chance to read a great book this week and be challenged…for an extremely HOT wife…

there we go…i got us started…it’s

thankful thursday…

we are in business…

sooo, for the last TWO days i have been working on the website…i had a couple great links recommended to me for this worshipleader/wife/musician/blogger in new england…she recommended this site and this site to me…they have now allowed me to start another page to the blog…finally a MUSIC page!!! i posted three songs from my album on there for all to listen to…

so check it out when you have time…THANKS MANDY!!!

we are in business…

whenever…

sooo, we are now in day three of our little week long getaway…i have to say this has been much needed and just amazing…i thank my friends and family who have been praying for us during this time…one good friend barry and his wife michelle were very encouraging before we left with their thoughts and prayers…it has truly been refreshing and we’re not half way through the week yet!!!

i’m still working through galatians and going at my typical snail’s pace…just like when i run…i’m now in chapter 6 and reading through the first half of the chapter and it’s just lighting me up!!! it took me two days just to get passed the first verse and what it had for me to take in…but for todays purposes i am going to focus on verses 9 and 10…

9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone – especially to those in the family of faith. (NLT)

sooo, this speaks to me, because quite frankly i’m TIRED!!! in the last 7 months it just seems like all i get done doing is spending time at “the church” or working on things for “the church”…and the church would be our local church that we attend, not speaking of the Body of Christ…and the things that i am tied up doing are great and there are times when i’m sure that people are impacted by them…hopefully more than i know…but i’m TIRED!!! just being honest here…

this week is greatly helping…God is definitely refreshing me and renewing my strength…

but the passage didn’t end with getting tired…it ends with the thought that no matter what…we need to take every possible opportunity we have to do good for others…why is that??? because that is what Christ did…regardless of what day it was…how big the crowd was or wasn’t…or who was in the crowd…if there was a need that Christ was able to meet…He did!!!

this all ties in with the book i am reading this week…it was recommended to me by her…and i am so thankful for that!!! but here is the quote i would like to share…”Jesus didn’t just go around willy-nilly healing people because he had a mind to. Jesus kept his eyes open (the traditional practice of Jewish prayer) so that he could see what the Father was doing and then go do it with him.” (pg. 104)

i just love the fact that ken wilson used “willy-nilly”…but that’s obviously not my focus…it’s on the concept of seeing what the Father is doing…and then going to do it with him…AMAZING yet simple concept…that we should do what Christ did, WHENEVER we have the opportunity…

whenever…

is this heaven???

sooo, we haven’t even been here 24 hours and i’m already quoting a great baseball flick… “is this heaven?” and it only took 4 hours to get here!!!

we got in yesterday afternoon…only having limited info about the place we had rented and how to get here…but we find the address and start back a “lane” of sand to our house for the week…about 150 yards later you find this small two bedroom house tucked back in the woods…AMAZING setting!!!

this morning i came out to the screened in patio for my devotions and cup of coffee…here came a wild turkey, squirrels, woodpeckers, cardinals, frogs, chipmunks, and many other various birds…have all come to visit us today…not to mention the fact that i can hear the water crashing up on the sand and nuts falling from the trees throughout the woods…God’s creation was singing out very loud this morning!!!

not only that, there is a park for public access to the beach, about 100 yards from the end of our drive…the beach is great, waters a little cold, but it’s just amazing!!! i just got back from my second trip to the beach today…molly warmed up the sand after a while…she was fun to watch as she experienced something new…

today God’s creation is just screaming out to me and reminding me of the countless things i have to be thankful for!!!

is this heaven???

Healer…

there have been several videos of this song out all over the web… this is my favorite version vocally… thought i would pass it on today… it’s been ministering to me in a big way this week…here are the lyrics (not in order of all that the song does)…

You hold my every moment…You calm my raging sea

You walk with me through fire…and heal all my disease

i trust in You…i trust in You

i believe You’re my Healer…i believe You are all i need

i believe You’re my Portion…i believe You’re more than enough for me

Jesus You’re all i need

nothing is impossible for You…nothing is impossible…nothing is impossible for You

You hold my world in Your hands…
